OK, we don’t mean that it has replaced Hollywood, but rather that it finally has a permanent, cinema again.
The location is the Centro de Desarrollo Turístico where Kuver Producciones will run the facilities, bringing Los Motrileños and visitors regular film entertainment. In case you’re scratching your head over where the said Centro is, it’s the new municipal cultural centre down near the port.
But the centre will not only be screening films, because it will also be used to hold all kinds of cultural events.
The Motril Councillor for Fiesta (Ole!) Alicia Crespo, together with representatives from Kuver Produccciones, gave the news at a press call in the centre itself.
Pepo Verdejo, who will be the cinema manager, explained that films will be screened from Wednesday to to Sunday, including public holidays.
The cinema has its own website where you can find what films are being screened, when and at what times. You can also get your entrance tickets on there, too.
The first film is tomorrow, Saturday the 17th, and will be Rey León, which will be screened twice: 17.00h and 19.00h. Furthermore, in order to promote this new cinema this film will be screened free of charge.
There are 1,000 free entrance tickets which can be obtained by registering on the Club Kuver webpage
So, there you go! Cinema returns to Motril, at last and the first screenings are free, if you register on their site.
