The Motril Fire Service has been busy pumping accumulated rain water off the roundabout at the entrance to the Polígono de Alborán (Celulosa road).
A team of six firefighters was active from 09.30h coping with the large puddles created by the rain during the early hours.
One of the tasks was clearing a blocked rain drain that had only been installed just over a year ago. The firemen used a 200-metre long pipe with a 7cm diameter to pump the water over to fully functioning rain drains in the Centro de Desarrollo Turístico area.
The Councillor for Citizen Safety, María Ángeles Escámez also visited other areas such as El Varadero and Santa Adela after witnessing the work being carried out by the firefighters.
