The condition of the La Herradura-beach sports area made the online version last month but the latest complaint comes from Ciudadanos Almuñécar-La Herradura.

This opposition party considers it “lamentable” that this sports facility, which is mainly used by the IES Villanueva del Mar (school) is still “dangerous” for the schoolchildren’s sports activities, owing to its deteriorated state.

In fact, the school has had to use the nearby football ground and play park further along the beach road because of its state – the school itself has no outside sports or games area. The party spokesperson claims that the pupils lose half their P.E. class time on getting to and from these locations.

The problem is with Costas, which considers the existing beach structure as illegal, for which reason it is being demolished.

Ciudadanos claims that the ruling party is handling the situation inadequately whilst proclaiming that the situation is solved when it is not.
