Costa 3-Kings Parades

ALM 3 Kings 2017Here is some info on this evening’s Three Kings Parades in the towns along the Costa Tropical: La Herradura, Almuñécar, Salobreña and Motril.

Salobreña: the parade will set off from the Playa del Peñón, next to Urbanización Mare Nostrum, half an hour early because of the forecast rains; i.e. departure will now be 18.00h.

Route: Playa del Peñón, Avda. Mediterráneo, Avda. Federico García Lorca, Avda. de Motril, Pontanilla, Avda. Antonio Machado and Plaza Juan Carlos I.

Upon arrival girls from the will hand over the ‘magic keys to the town’ to the Three Kings.

Motril: twenty floats will take part in the Parade, but first the Kings will land at Motril Port around 17.30h where they will be greeted by the Mayor and whisked off to the town centre.

The parade will set off at 18.15h.h and ending around 23.00h with the rain hot on its tails…

Route: Ronda del Mediodía, La Matraquilla, Calle Aguas del Hospital, Calle Río Ebro, Avenida de Salobreña as far as the Santuario de Nuestra Señora de la Virgen de la Cabeza, then Avenida de Andalucía, Calle Cuevas, Calle López Rubio, Rambla de Capuchinos, calle Santísimo, Calle Ancha, Camino de San Antonio, La Posta, Calle Nueva, Calle Teatro, Marqués de Vistabella, Plaza Francisco Javier de Burgos, Calle Catalanes and Calle Muralla as far as the Avenida de Salobreña and Aguas del Hospital up to Ronda del Mediodía.


La Herradura: Again, owing to the rain this evening, the parade will leave at 16.30h from the indoor sports facilities and from there the Paseo Andrés Segovia up to the Acera del Pilar, taking it up to the main entrance to the village and then down Prieto Moreno as far as the Centro Cívico, where the prize-giving ceremony and other entertainment will take place.

Almuñécar: according to the town hall around 600 people and 14 floats will take part in the parade, which will set off from the municipal sports stadium at 17.00h and be handing out four tonnes of sweets before it returns to its point of departure.

Route: sports stadium, Calle Puerto de la Cruz, Avenida Baracoa, Calle Mariana Pineda then up Avenida Rey Juan Carlos as far as Carrera de la Concepción, then Avenida Costa del Sol, Avenida Europa. Then Avenida de Cala and back to the Carrera de la Concepción then Avenida de Andalucía as far as the crossroads with Callejón Hurtado de Mendoza; then Mariana Pineda and along Calle Tetuán to the stadium.
