The Polígono El Vadillo (Km 1) and Calle Ancha in Motril are getting the roadworks treatment; i.e., new sewage, rain drainage and mains systems overhauled.

In the case of the Vadillo (trading estate on the old Almería Road) the budget is 1.2m euros and will see the area finally getting a rain-drainage system installed, which is why there are always extensive puddles there.

The work will last about ten months, so be prepared for lots of traffic disruption from now until next autumn.

The other area, as mentioned above, is Calle Ancha, where the work comes with a budget of 1.1m euros and will last nine months.

Apart from the new underground infrastructure going in, the question of low domestic water pressure will be sorted out because in some blocks of flats, if you open a tap, it just sucks the moisture out of the room… Just joking, of course, but it’s after midnight at the moment and I’m getting desperate!
