The Almuñécar Royal Naval Association held its annual Trafalgar Night event in La Herradura last Month to commemorate the Battle of Trafalgar (October 21st, 1805).

Apart from inviting their local ex-RAF bod & his guest, they also shared the event with the Axarquia branch of the Royal Air Force association… and nobody was injured.

The venue was the excellent Restaurante Nº20, run by Mark and laurent.

The excellent meal was interspersed with the reading of historic naval despatches from the battle following days. The Crabs (nickname for RAF personnel) were also instructed in naval protocol concerning toasts and passing the rum. (strange briny quirks).

The RNA will be returning the visit and going to the RAFA Christmas do in Torre del Mar this year.

Great night, great food, shame about the repair bill for the French & Spanish combined fleet.
