Almuñécar Paragliding Death

ALM Taramay Paragliding AccidentThere is still very little information, but what we do know is that a paragliding pilot died as a result of an accident yesterday afternoon in Almuñécar.

The accident occurred at 14.30h whilst the victim was flying over a barranco at the back of Taramay. The body was recovered next to a lane on the other side of the N-340 at 16.30h

We do know that the victim was Polish and often practiced this sport in Almuñécar and La Herradura.

The Seaside Gazette covered another paragliding accident involving a Polish pilot when he missed the landing ground above Otivar and landed in a barranco, he had to be rescued by a joint effort between the Guardia Civil mountain-rescue team and the Almuñécar Fire Service. The rescue also required an air ambulance from Sevilla and the Guardia Civil helicopter based in Granada.
