Brexit and Andalucia

Of the Top Ten export destinations for Andalusian produce, it is the UK that have grown the most, reaching 1,311m euros.

Of all the regions of Spain, Andalusia is the second largest exporter to the UK, accounting for 15.3% of the total Spanish exports to the UK. Only Cataluña export more (20%), but Andalucía is catching up, because its exports grew 12 time more than Cataluña during 2016.

The last facts and figures are that Andalucia has a trade surplus of 1,021m euro with the UK, which translates into the simple fact that Andalucía exports four times more than it imports with its trade with the UK.

So, summing up, both the UK and Spain have a lot to lose over Brexit but it is right here in Andalucía where it is going to hurt perhaps the most.
