The Guardia Civil arrested a known criminal in Castell de Ferro for domestic violence after his ex-partner had reported him to the police.

The individual, who during his 51 years has notched up 22 arrests, was located and pulled over on the A-7 on the way back from Almeria.

The ex-wife had taken the opportunity to literally sneak into the Guardia post, asking for help but was unwilling to report him officially – he had threatened to kill her with a sickle (riphook). She was also worried for the safety of her children.

Furthermore, witnesses reported that he had told several people, “I’m going to Almería to buy a pistol and shoot her.”

At the time of his arrest, he wasn’t exactly cooperative, but instead put up a violent struggle. After finally cuffing, they searched him and his car but found no firearm. However, they did find a bag of illegal substances; 28 doses of heroin, 6 doses of cocaine and three doses of hashish.
