The police in Torremolinos have arrested a Swiss citizen who had been on the run from the Swiss authorities over a finance-related crime (fraud).

The arrest was possible thanks to close cooperation between the two countries’ police forces working through Enfast (European Network of Fugitive Active Search Teams).

The man had already been arrested once in the same Costa del Sol town in 2010 but had taken advantage of a weekend pass from Swiss jail to flee once again to Spain.

When arrested this time he was carrying forged identity documents and several bank cards in another name.
