Yesterday morning saw the arrest of a 24-year-old man in La Herradura and the recovery of a car that had been stolen in Málaga.

It was at 10.00h on Friday the 26th of May that locals on the Paseo de Andrés Segovia were awoken to the sound of sirens; a Policia Local patrol had come across the said stolen vehicle and the driver sped off on seeing that he had been rumbled.

Reinforced by the Guardia Civil, the municipal police cast a net to capture him. In the meantime, the suspect had abandoned the car and had caught the municipal bus from La Herradura to Almuñécar.

However, the police were waiting at the Carrera de la Concepción bus shelter for him, but again, he managed to run off only to be caught in the Plaza Noreta.

The suspect, who answers to the initials of F.J.G.D., has a criminal record.
