There’s no doubt about it; the road along the top of the Paseo del Altillo in Almuñécar is sagging with two ruts visible in the cobblestones. So it was only a matter of time before an opposition party would bring it to the attention of the Mayor via the press.

The Spokeswoman for the PSOE, Mª Dolores Manzano Martin, said, “Apart from being a serious problem, it damages the image that we project as a tourist town.” In other words, it’s counterproductive and detracts from the municipal promotional campaigns.

Therefore, the PSOE Spokeswoman urges the governing party to get the municipal surveyors out, work out how to tackle the job and get it fixed.

Editorial comment: no sooner than the ‘new’ paseo was inaugurated, the top road began to show signs of deterioration. The state of the road surface has been pretty much constant since then, which suggests a serious design fault.
