A German paragliding enthusiast came down with a hard landing on somebody’s cortijo terrace in the Loma del Gato area of Almuñécar, resulting in fractures.
The incident occurred on Wednesday the 14th when the 51-year-old man, for reasons unknown plummeted onto the terrace of a remote chalet-cortijo. Owing to the rudimentary state of the access track it was impossible to get a normal ambulance up there, so a Protección Civil Land Rover was used.
The man, who had a fracture in one of his extremities, was also complaining of back and neck pains, was driven down to the N-340 Taramay access roundabout for the A-7, where a conventional ambulance was waiting to take the man to the area hospital of Santa Ana in Motril.
Note: other news sources (the Ideal) give the victim’s nationality as Danish and aged 50.
