The said week, which is in fact just three days, from the 10th to the 12th, will be held in the Centro Cívico, informed the First Councillor for La Herradura, Juan José Ruiz Joya.
This is not the first time that guitarist Gallén García has played in the village as in 1998 he won the First Prize of that year’s Andrés Segovia Classical Guitar Competition.
The event starts on the 10th at 11.00h with a chat before pupils from the village high-school, given by luthiers Aarón Garcíaand Stephen Hills, who will explain the evolution of the instrument.
From 20.30h there will be an exhibition of guitars in the Pepe Gámez Hall in the centre.
On Friday the 11h from 10.00h to 14.00h there will be workshops on guitar making and a concert by the group, Vibra-Go, which is in fact an interactive music teaching project.
Then in the evening at 20.30h in the choral hall in the centre there will e a conference under the title of Un sonido de más de tres décadas: El Certamen de Guitarra de Andrés Segovia de La Herradura. It will be given by Victoriano Pérez Mancilla, who is a professor at the Universidad de Granada.
And then on Saturday, as mentioned above, Ricardo Gallén will give a guitar concert at 20.30h.
