Peña Parda Problems

lhr-pen%cc%83a-parda-problems-onlThe Almuñécar branch of the PSOE socialist party is calling on the ruling party to sort out the access problems for the residents of Peña Parda in La Herradura.

“We have visited the area on several occasions. We have spoken with the locals and understand the desperation that they feel. The Town Council has to stop holding things up or looking the other way, and get around to finding a prompt solution,” said Pablo Ruiz, the socialist councillor, who lives in La Herradura.

The residents promised to carrying out the mains water/sewage system work, etc, and the Town Hall promised to re-tarmac the road. The work started in May 2015 and concluded in June this year, having included a pause over the summer period.

But the road lies uncovered and now with the recent rain, completely rutted.

“We understand that there could have been problems during the work and tests need to be carried out to give them the stamp of approval,” continued the councillor, but what we do not understand, nor share, is the attitude of the Governing Board of the Town Council – the First Councillors Office for La Herradura claims that it is not its responsibility and won’t commit. We find this surprising. First Councillor Ruiz Joya should get on with it and sort it out,” said, the socialist opposition councillor.

The socialist finished by saying that a committee needed to be set, including a representative of the residents, one from the building company and the Councillor for Urban Development so that they could all coordinate their efforts. The socialists even offered to mediate.
