The police union for the Guardia Civil, AUGC, reports that the newly adapted Guardia Civil post in Salobreña has several deficiencies.
The AUGC considers the Headquarter’s planning as “bad” and with little foresight; in fact they consider the Salobreña posts as “chaotic.”
These “anomalies,” together with “chronic [administrative] structural deficiencies” are aggravated by a lack of personnel.
The Salobreña post, the union spokesperson explained, is the operational rural, nerve centre for the rural areas of Otìvar, Jete, Lentegi, Ítrabo, Molvizar, Los Guájares, Velez de Benaudalla, Lagos and Salobreña together with it’s outlaying municipal dependencies – some 25,000 people over this large area.
Yet, despite this wide responsibility there is only one patrol for the whole area. As far as the policeman on duty in the office, which is open 24 hours a day, he has to attend the desk, the emergency phone calls, the security cameras, as well as attend to prisoners, including some from the Motril post.
