Motril Bomb Jitters

mot-law-courtsThe bomb-disposal squad was out last night after a suspicious package was found outside the Motril law courts.

Locals had phoned in on Monday 26th at 20:40h to say they had witnessed a man “furtively” deposit a cardboard box between two palm trees next to the law courts and then run off.

The police immediately cordoned off the area, said the Councillor for Citizen Safety, Mª Ángeles Escámez, pending the arrival of the Guardia Civil, bomb squad, TEDAX. After careful inspection, they opened it and declared that it was not a bomb.

The press release does not say what the contents were but it does say that it could be stolen property that somebody was attempting to hand in without being identified.
