A woman in Nerja was arrested for allegedly stabbing her ex-husband in retaliation for his alleged attempt to run her mother over.
The stabbing took place in the town-centre between Calle Jaén and Calle Antonio Millon where 28-year-old Margarita confronted 33-year-old Roberto J.G. at around 15.00h on Friday the 23rd.
Also arrested was the woman’s father who allegedly thumped him. The ex-husband already had a court order out against him forbidding him from approaching either his ex-wife or her mother.
However the man had been hanging around within sight of her home shouting abuse and threats, which is when she came out, accompanied by her present boyfriend and confronted him.
Almost immediately she allegedly wounded him in the face and neck with a knife. The father also came out when the confrontation started and took part, although the present boyfriend apparently did not.
The whole incident was trigger the previous week on Tuesday the 13th was arrested for attempting to run over – twice – his ex-mother-in-law and then attempting to flee from the Guardia Civil. The police tracked him down to his own mother’s house and arrested him, not without his offering resistance and causing damage to the patrol car.
Back to this latest incident, the woman and her father were taken to the police station and their statements taken, charged and released pending appearing before a magistrate.
The victim, after receiving 30-stiches (staples) to his injuries at the municipal medical centre, he is being kept in custody for breaking the court order, again pending a court appearance.
