Limping Limdeco

MOT LimdecoThe Motril cleaning company, Limdeco, which is part publicly owned, appears to have its days numbered, thanks to a letter from Hacienda.

The Ministerio de Hacienda asked the Town Hall to dissolve the company within 15 days, owing to its debt with Seguridad Social.

As can be imagined, the Town Council, the workers’ union and the politically appointed head of Limdeco, disagree with Hacienda‘s reasoning and consider this latest move to be just “one more turn of the screw” to force Motril to privatize the company.

“There is no accountancy imbalance at all,” claims the union spokesperson, adding, “The 2015 tax year ended with the books balanced.”

The union spokesman went on to explained that the outstanding sum owed to Social Security has been ‘fraccionada’ (the sum split up into smaller, more manageable, amounts) and the payments made regularly, as stipulated.

Editorial comment: whatever the case, if there is a problem, those that will pay the price with their jobs are not the ones who have allowed it to happen.
