The Balearic-Island company, Balearia, carries more passengers per year than any other ferry line in Spain.
This is indeed good news for Motril and for the province in general as Motril Port continues to grow, attracting new ferry and freight lines, as well as trading companies wishing to set up shop within the port area.
And all this… despite everything that the Central Government has thrown at it in the form of hindrance, both from failing to provide the Port Authorities with sufficient customs staff to begin with, as well as, providing economic grants to Motril’s competitor ports – larger and longer established ones – whilst denying Motril Port the same and much more deserved support, effectively giving ferry operators incentive to leave Motril. Thankfully, these companies stuck with Motril.
Enhorabuena Motril Port!
