Belgian Tourists Rescued

ALT Sierra de Baza OnLTwo Belgian men, aged 29 and 48, had to be rescued after they became lost in the Sierra de Baza, after their car had broken down.

The victims phoned 112 and a unit of the Policía Nacional was dispatched to locate them. The police had to do it on foot as the terrain was too rough for a vehicle to cross.

They found one of the lost tourists after 20 minutes in the area known as the Prados del Rey. The man was showing the first signs of hypothermia. He told the police that his friend couldn’t walk as he had one leg in plaster so had remained behind in the broken-down car.

The tourists were brought down with no further incidents and taken to hospital for a check up.
