The PP motion before the Regional Parliament, urging the Junta to carry out emergency work in the Urb. Carmenes del Mar (La Herradura) has been approved.

The motion was backed by Podemos and Ciudadanos after the PP accepted modifications; Podemos insisted that there should be accommodation solutions for those who might be evicted during the repair work, whilst Ciudadanos insisted on a technical board with representatives from the Almuñécar Town Hall, the Junta and the Central Government.

The motion was opposed by the governing party, the PSOE.

In the meantime, Carmenes affected residents, although heartened by this move, urge the Junta to put the decision into practice and do something before the rains come.
