A young girl of 14 fell from a 5th-floor window, trying to escape using knotted sheets. Her state is critical.

This occurred in Lugo (Galicia) on Sunday the 7th after her parents sent her to her bedroom, confiscating her mobile phone as punishment for bad behaviour. The girl was alone at home and locked into her room.

She had knotted together several sheets that were in her wardrobe and anchored the ‘rope’ to a radiator under the window.

It’s not known how far she had descended before she fell; there was nobody at home, there were no witnesses and obviously, the girl is unable to tell anybody.

The first indication of what had happened was when a neighbour phoned 112 to say that a teenage girl was lying on the street in a bad way. The girl was conscious when the ambulance arrived.
