Gardeners employed by the Motril Town Hall have issued the following statement:
All through the year, sadly, antisocial behaviour, such as letting dogs defecate without retrieving it, or throwing litter into gardened areas has been going on.
With the arrival of autumn the periods between grass cutting draw out because the weather slows down grass growth, meaning that the presence of excrement and litter has multiplied between less frequent visits by garden workers.
From now until spring the task of gardening will become a truly repulsive task and a danger to our health and that of our families.
We ask the new Town Council to provide the resources needed to correct this anti-social behaviour.
The gardens and parks are places for our children to play…
The manifesto goes on and concludes thus:
…We are sick and tired of sterile propaganda that doesn’t solve the problems. We want solutions, not only as gardeners but as citizens of our town, so that gardened areas remain clean for the enjoyment of all.
