Torrecuevas Fiestas

ALM Torrecuevas fiestas1 OnLApart from being Columbus Day, Thanks Giving and El Día de la Hispanidad, it was also the local fiestas in Almuñécar’s Torrecuevas.

The procession of the Virgen Madre through Torrecuevas had the locals out flocking around the throne itself… and the temporary bars.

On the last day of the 4-days of fiestas, there was a church service followed by the throne being carried out on the menfolks’ shoulders at 19.00h, where it was borne to the Caicillos area, as is the tradition every year.

The dance group, Andalucia Baile gave a energetic display of Sevillanas, followed by a firework display.

Then the procession arrived at Venta Luciano, where the dancers span out another colourful display of Sevillanas, followed by another explosion of fireworks.

After this stop, with the procession having lasted almost five hours, it turned around and made its way back to the Ermita where the the religious effigy is kept.

As soon as it was stored there the grand finale firework display took place, laid on by Pirotecnica Martin.

Plenty of colour, dancing, fireworks and traditional fun.
