A woman confessed to making a false claim to having been robbed and sexually assaulted in her home in Málaga.
The Policia Nacional received a call from a man to say that his 42-year-old partner had been robbed and sexually assaulted in their home.
When the police turned up at the flat it was to find the woman sitting on the bed with packing tape still around her wrists. She explained that she had been in the kitchen just after one in the morning when persons unknown had attacked her from behind.
They dragged her into the bedroom, she claimed, where she was sexually assaulted before on of her assailants stuffed a pill into her mouth and she fell unconscious.
When she came around, she reported, it was to find 1,400 euros in cash and her mobile phone missing.
The police protocol in the case of sexual offences was brought into play and she was taken to the main hospital for examination and police forensic team went over the flat for clues.
However, one of the police officers noticed contradictory points in her statement. Furthermore, police carrying out the investigation also found inconsistencies, so she was quizzed on these points.
She soon confessed to having made up the whole story because she had spent the money for her rent…
