Work commenced this week on the N-340 junction in La Herradura for Pago de Guerra, consisting of widening and tarmacking work.

The budget, part financed by the Town Hall and the Provincial Council, ascends to 60,293 euros, explained the village’s First Councillor, Juan José Ruiz Joya, adding that the work contract had gone to the Almuñécar-based company, Cofer Asfaltos SL.

“Work will include an 80-metre long retaining wall [along the barranco that runs alongside the N-340]”, he explained, “allowing a greater width for the lane; i.e., five metres.”
