Two accidents were the result of spilt oil on the road surface at the bottom end of Calle Guadix in Almuñécar, where it meets San Cristóbal, as well as further up the street.
The oil spillage started level with the Torres Quevedo and extended all the way down causing two bike riders to fall off.
The first one involved a man and woman on the same scooter near the beach junction. Passersby immediately came to their aid. Although the male driver was slightly injured, his wife on the back came through unscathed.
The Policía Local and fire service immediately got to work neutralizing the spill, which probably came from a lorry, with sand etc, but not before a second rider lost control of his bike further up the road. Fortunately, he was not hurt.
The police are investigating to find the culprit.
