A young climber had to be rescued by the Guardia Civil mountain-rescue team (Sereim) after a fall, which had left him dangling on his rope against the rock face. Also left dangling was his uninjured climbing companion

The incident occurred around 14.40h on Sunday the 14th in the Arista del Cartujo area of the Sierra Nevada, inside the municipal boundaries of Monachil.

The team managed to rescue both and get the injured man, who had a dislocated shoulder, to a waiting rescue helicopter and fly him to a hospital in the city of Granada.

Editorial note: You know, when the Guardia aren’t hanging people upside down, tweaking their nipples and beating the soles of their feet (just joking) they are pretty handy people to have around.
