The Guardia Civil swooped on a criminal gang, bagging 23 individuals in Melilla, Almería and Motril.

The majority (19) were arrested in Melilla, whilst two were arrested in Almería and a further two in Motril.

There centre of operations was Melilla Port but their operations took in Motril and Almería Ports, too.

Amongst those arrested were two members of the port police (Guardia Civil) in Melilla and four crew members of the North-African ferry operating with the Spanish mainland.

The operation also led to the interception of a vehicle in Motril carrying 272 kilos of hashish.
