It’s normally the big fiestas like Las Cruces when fines fly thick and fast for urinating in public areas. The Granada Policia Local fined 178 people for urinating and defecating where they shouldn’t last year.
The original article published in the Ideal daily says that the fines range from 751 euros to 1,500 euros for ‘spending a penny.’ However a couple of days later the rectified the amount was changed to anything up to 500 euros, which is still a lot of money.
The police report uses figures from 2014 and covers four big, open-air events: Fiesta de la Primavera (March) saw 44 fines; Las Cruces (May) 27 fines; Corpus Cristi (June) 13, and the Botellón (October) 25 fines.
Here in Spain, urinating in public, is a misdemeanor, punishable with a fine, whereas in Georgia (USA) its a crime punishable with a prison sentence. In fact in the 1996 Olympics, which were held in the States, two Spanish athletes were locked up for 24 hours when they were caught red handed, emptying their bladders in gay abandon.

Joe/Jane/Bob: You’re right, as it is a slow Sunday, let’s approve them, even though they are all by the same person 😉 Greetings to the Good folk of Florida!
I don’t know Bob Smith or Jane Smith, but I see there are no other comments here, so I feel it would be a great idea to approve their comments.
I approve of Bob Smith’s comment.
If I got caught peeing in public, I’d be pissed. And when I’m peeing, if ur in my way, you’re getting peed on.
