On the 3rd of May, Salobreña will hold the Gran Premio de Fondo, which will be the 5th annual race of its kind.

This year there are more participants than ever with over 1,500 runners.

The race will begin at 10.00h, starting from the municipal Estadio de Atletismo, which is where the finishing line is also situated.

There are five categories, ranging from juniors to seniors and includes a special category for disabled competitors.

The cross country race is ten kilometers long, threading through the town’s thoroughfares, along the beaches: Avenida Federico García Lorca, Avenida Mediterráneo down to the beach, along the paseo and then along Avenida de Andalucía before retuning along Av. Mediterráneo and Av. de Peronne.
