On the 6th of February a 71-year-old Australian man died in a car accident within the municipality of Capileira in the Alpujarra Granadina.

At the time of the accident he was accompanied by a 58-year-old woman who was injured and swiftly transferred to Motril’s Santa Ana Hospital.

The accident occurred around 09.50h near kilometre-point three on the A-4129, when the car left the road and plummeted down a barranco. The reasons behind the accident are not known

The road was temporary cut whilst emergency services recovered the car and occupants.
