Motril schoolchildren will be able to try their hand at golf, thanks to a deal struck between the Town Hall and Los Moriscos Golf Course.
The Motril Councillor for Sports, José García Fuente and the Manager of Los Moriscos Golf Course, María del Mar Vallejo, jointly announced an initiative to introduce the game to the town’s younger citizens.
The fact is that Motril has the only golf course on the Costa Tropical, yet los Motrileños in general don’t seem to make much use of it.
So the perfect solution, in the eyes of the golf course and the Sports Councillor, is to give the kids bonus sports facilities to use and at the same time acquaint the population with golf via the younger generation.
The idea is to teach them the game’s techniques and rules, leading up to holding school golf games.
Editorial comment: quite how the seasoned users of Los Moriscos will feel about a horde of schoolchildren screaming around the place is quite another matter…
