Around 17.00h on Monday the 15th (yesterday) a small fire was put out in Salobreña in the Parque de la Libertad, next to the swings.

The Policía Local and Guardia Civil were alerted at 16.30h by locals living on the Avenida Miguel Hernández, who had been alarmed at the smoke coming from the park.

The Motril fire service soon arrived and dealt with the fire, which had started amongst the vegetation there and had caused a great deal of smoke.

The cause of the fire is still unknown.
