The Ministry of Public Works is working on the roadside verges of the N-340, just above the Guardia Civil post. There is a slight disruption to traffic as the overtaking lane is closed in places.

The work consists of putting a concrete surface to the culverts, which is the same as the work carried out next to the traffic lights on the entrance in to La Herradura early on in the year.

The Almuñécar work, which will gradually work it way up to the El Mateano bend (Rancho Río Verde entrance), also includes the pruning of the eucalyptus trees outside Hostal California.
