The Seprona unit of the Guardia Civil discovered three scuba divers with a catch of 200 kilos of Actiniaria (sea anemone).
The three men were over from Cádiz and were allegedly going to sell their catch to bars and restaurants in Cádiz.
The Seprona unit was carrying out a routine patrol in the Marina del Este when they saw the divers lifting sacks out of their moored boat. The police approached them to establish the identities of the three men and check the contents of the sacks.
The men, who lacked the necessary fishing licences, were charged and the 200 kilos of sea anemone were returned to the sea off the Marina del Este beach.
