The Town Hall of Salobreña has demanded that the municipal cleaning company, Cepsa, carries out all the conditions laid out in its contract.
The Councillor for the Environment, Martín Valenzuela, explained that locals have complained that the rubbish-collection company has not been providing a service for all the stipulated areas around the town. For example, the hosing down or sweeping of pavements.
However, he pointed out that part of the problem does not lie with the said company nor with the Town Hall, but with the antisocial behavior of some locals who insist on putting their rubbish out, outside the normal collection times. And of course, there are those that can’t be bothered to put their rubbish bags in the hoppers or allow their dogs to foul the pavements.
