The IX Festival Aéreo de Motril attracted more people than ever, with estimations at over 50,000 spectators.
Seventeen aircraft, a model aircraft display and a parachute display team filled the morning skies.
The Mayor, Luisa García Chamorro was joined by the Commanding Officer of the Armilla Air Base, Colonel Ayllon, the Chairman of the Asociación Aeronática Andaluza Orión, José Miguel Pérez Juárez and the Belgian Consul in Málaga, Claude de Hennin de Boussu Walcourt turned out for this 9th annual air show.
The Spanish Army parachute-display team (PAPEA) made this special appearance as part of the 75th anniversary of the formation Airborne Division.
Other participants included nine auto-gyros belonging to Plus Ultra of the Aeroclub de Huelva and the Spanish, civilian, acrobatics team, Jacob-52 -comprising of six ex air-force pilots with 100,000 flying hours between them.
There were also single acts, such as Gonzalo Figueroa piloting his Bucker 1131 acrobático, Vicente Barberá in his PITTS2B and the Belgian pilot, Steven Van Wichelen, flying a Super Decathlon.
