Today, Sunday the 22nd, saw the Classic Club Salubinia meet held in Salobreña, which was the first of its kind there.
About 100 venerable bikes participated through classic-bike clubs from the city of Granada, Pinos Puente, Maracena, Churriana and Albolote. You didn’t have to belong to a club to participate, however.
The event started at 08.30h with the registering of participants and then, just after 10.00h the bikes set off for the castle at the top of town. Those that made it then participated in a ride around town, including La Caleta and La Guarda.
Let’s face it, from the top, even without the engine, if you don’t use the brakes, you can get twice around the town just with the momentum!
But the riders went further, visiting Vélez Benaudalla and even Guájar Alto before parking in front of Hotel Salobreña where lunch was held.
The Classic Club Salubinia came about in September 2012 thanks to a group of friends, all fans of old bikes, who enjoy doing them up as much as they do riding them. The club presently has 16 members.
