The Central Government department, Costas, has organized the ‘regeneration’ of sand on Cotobro beach so that it is ready for the summer onslaught.

The sand was brought by lorry from Playa Puerta del Mar; i.e., where the winter and spring storms had dumped the ‘stolen’ material from Cotobro beach.

The Almuñécar Councillor for Mantenimiento y Obras, José Manuel Fernández Medina, pointed out that Cotobro beach had been the worst affected by the storms.
