The Motril Town Hall has been in contact with numerous mobile-phone operators in order to reinforce coverage his summer. Consequently, Movistar has promised to give 4G coverage come the summer.
The Mayor, García Chamorro, hopes that other companies will follow suit, or at the least, provide greater coverage capacity for the summer, population growth.
4G coverage will permit users to navigate the net with download speeds of 75 Mbps and uploads of 25 Mbps. With the restructuring of the TDT in 2015, the 800 Mhz frequency will be allocated to Internet giving a greater download and upload speeds of 150/50 Mbps, respectively.
Incidentally, this restructuring was the reason that we lost so many TV channels, which previously occupied the 800 Mhz frequency. It was sad day that Sexta Tres disappeared, which only transmitted film after film.
