A little bit of good news for a change on the price-of-electricity front; the average consumer will be getting 25.50 euros back from the electricity company.
Yes, thanks to Ministry of Industry’s turbulent attempts to establish a standard price per unit, at the beginning of the year, 16 million electricity consumers were overcharged for the first quarter of this year: the Government set the price at 48,48 euros per MV/h whereas it is now known that it should have been 26.27 euros per MW/h.
The electricity companies have until the 31st of August to pay it all back, and when we say ‘all,’ we’re talking about a total of 310 million euros. Ouch!
