It has been a busy morning in Almuñecar with all the hubbub around Edifício Miami… then smoke was seen over San Cristobal; simultaneously with the Edif. Miami incident a fire had broken out in Apart-Hotel Chinasol on San Cristóbal.

All that is known at the moment – after interviewing the firemen, First Councillor of La Herradura Juan José Ruiz Joya, who was present, and the Local Police Chief, is that there had been a studio-flat fire on the 9th floor, which had been swiftly dealt with.

At one point a Guardia Civil policeman had been trapped by smoke on one of the balconies but was none the worse for wear.

The fire began shortly after 11.00h this morning and was reported extinguished within the hour.
