The governing party lost the motion to have the municipal market demolished, thanks to the combined votes against from the PSOE and CA.

The PP can only govern as long as the PSOE abstains from voting against them. Trinidad Herrera became Mayor thanks to the votes in favour of the PA and the abstention of the PSOE, because Benavides’ party was the most voted for party at the last municipal elections.

A stalemate between the governing party, which wants to demolish and build from scratch, and the CA, which wants it patched up and put back into use, now exists.
