Storm Damage to Motril Beach

MOT Storm Damage OnLStorms at the beginning of the month wiped out 20 metres of beach on Playa Granada, next to Hotel Robinson. Motril Town Hall is requesting funds from the Central Government to counter the problem.

It’s not the first year, and it certainly won’t be the last that gales eat away at Motril’s ‘incredible disappearing beach’ running up to the town limits with Salobreña.

The manager of Hotel Robinson, Eric Schumman, had a walk around the parts of the hotel exterior that have been damaged with the Mayor; namely, the tennis courts. Herr Schumman guaranteed that his installations would be up and running for when his first seasonal guests arrive on the 18th of March.

In the meantime, experts from Costas have also been on the beach, poking around, trying to work out what will be needed to get the beach ready for Semana Santa next month.
