Supercar Sinkhole

WLD Car SinkholeNow to Bowling Green, Kentucky in the US, where a sinkhole has made the news. It appeared in the National Corvette Museum a couple of Wednesday’s ago, however, although eight very expensive cars were damaged, the facility remained open.

Spokesperson for the the museum, Katie Frassinelli, explained that six of the cars were owned by the museum and the other two – a 1993 ZR1 Spyder and a 2009 ZR1 Blue Devil – were on temporary loan from the General Motors Museum.

The hole opened up at a time when nobody was in the museum and it was limited to just one area, which was closed down to the public. The area is known as the ‘domed section’ and is not attached to the original part of the museum, which was opened in 1994, so staff were able just to isolate the domed section.

Now, to upset all you car enthusiasts out there, here are is a list of the vehicles damaged, a 1962 black Corvette, a 1984 PPG Pace Car, a 1992 White One Millionth Corvette, a 1993 Ruby Red 40th Anniversary Corvette, a 2001 Mallett Hammer Z06 Corvette and a 2009 white 1.5 Millionth Corvette.

There is still an investigation ongoing into why the sinkhole may have appeared, however, it seems to be the first ever sinkhole incident in the area.
