The Almuñécar Environmental Depart has been busy installing new recycling containers.

According to the Councillor for the Environment, Luis Aragón, the town now has over 200 of such specialized containers for individual kinds of waste.

The new ones can be found in Calle Amelia Sánchez Alcázar, Avenida del Mediterráneo, Avenida  Costa del sol, Paseo Reina Sofía and Calle El Tesorillo.

The existing paper & cardboard ones are located on Avenida Príncipe de Asturias, whilst the ones for bottles (glass) is on Calle  Amelia Sánchez Alcázar and Paseo Puerta del Mar.

“All this is to bring the service closer to local people, thus making recycling easier in town, which in turn means that less rubbish has to be taken to the rubbish sorting plant in Vélez Benaudalla; i.e., less cost for everybody,” explained the councillor.
