Almuñécar Councillor Luis Aragón has warned that any small boats that have been beached outside officially reserved areas will be confiscated. Basically, they will be considered ‘rubbish’ and removed, more or less.
The Councillor explained that under Ley 22 /1988, The Town Hall is obligated to remove any craft outside the official areas for beaching boats for storage; one is on Playa San Cristóbal/La China, another is on Playa Velilla and the third is on Play Puerta del Mar.
In order to leave a boat on the beach, permission must be obtained through Costas in Madrid, via its provincial offices; in other words, it’s not in the Town Hall’s hands.
“From the 28th of February, all those boats that are found either outside these areas, or those that are inside without the correct documentation, will be removed,” warned the councillor.
