Five people were injured, three of whom were British tourists, at a hotel in Adeje, Tenerife (Canary Islands).

It appears that a piece of machinery in the swimming-pool bar exploded on Friday the 28th of December.

The Canary Islands emergency service, SUC, explained that all five had received burns of varying degrees.
